The Party!

Yesterday was the big shin-dig! Melia and 13 of her closest friends (LOL, I don't even have 13 close friends!) all got to play at Bouncin' Kids. All her friends had a fab time! I think that this clip sums up what the kids got to do...
Sydney really enjoyed the big bounce around. She and Little B played in there a lot. Sydney did some tricks...

and then her legs stuck up! LOL!

I couldn't get any good pictures of Little B because she never is still, but I did get this one...
One of the inflatable slides was a giant dinosaur and I thought it was most funny that some of the kids were climbing into the end...nice....! This is Zoey looking into the dino butt!

While the kids were playing, us adults got to sit around and visit. I got a nice picture of mom...

Melia had lots of fun on one of the slides!

After an hour and 45 min we went to the party room. The employees set up the room and even passed out the pizza. I didn't have to do anything. There was a huge inflated chair that the b-day kid sits in to open the presents, it was really cool. I took my turn sitting in it!

And Sydney, too!

And Melia, posing!...

Everyone had a really good time! Here's a nice pic of all the kids around the chair...

Unfortunately, everyone that I am close to had to leave early. Mom went to Hickory to get together with some friends, Chris and Sydney had to get to her basketball game, Lynda left with Becky (Little B had a slight injury tyring to get to the presents) so I felt a little out of my element. You see, half of the parents were deaf and I found myself at a loss. (I so need to brush up on my sign language!) Everyone was very nice and I think that we all got our point across in our communication. One of the dads offered to take pictures while Melia opened the gifts. (I was so grateful!)

There are a few kids that are deaf and others only have deaf parents, so it was a little confusing...I just tried to communicate with everyone as best as I could...what else could I do? After all the guests were gone I loaded up the car and paid the bill. I was a little overwhelmed by the entire experience so it wasn't until I got home that I reviewed the bill. We had a 14 kid party with 3 pizzas (pizzas are extra $) but they only billed me for a 7 kid party with 1 pizza! I'm not quite sure what happened but I saved about $60! I'm not going to argue.

After the party Melia and I headed off to Sydney's Basketball game where we saw Melia's friend (who was at the party) and they came and sat by us. Kierra (Melia's friend) was absolutely tired until she saw Melia. Kierra's parents are deaf and, I must say, 'talking' with them was much easier for me at the game than at the party. It's easier to communicate when there are a lot of big body/facial expressions.

I took some pics of Sydney's game (she's in the front of the pic, #30)

Sydney's game went into overtime, and it was a real nail-bitter! Unfortunately, they lost 9 to 11 but it was a great game!
